RESOLUTION 2010-11
BOROUGH OF AMBLER
A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FEES for the filing of application, permits,
licenses and violation fines for the Borough of Ambler pursuant to the enabling
provisions of existing Borough Ordinances and Regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby resolved by the Council
of the Borough of Ambler that all fees are hereby fixed as follows:
ABANDONED CAR (Private): $75 on notice and $75 for each additional
24 hours Continuing Event (CE) - same vehicle
AMBLER BOROUGH WEED ORDINANCE (Ticket): $50 every 24 hours.
AMBLER BOROUGH SNOW ORDINANCE (Ticket): $50 every 24 hours.
AMUSEMENT DEVICES & VENDING MACHINES: $25 per year for each
pinball/amusement device, music device (jukebox), portable
recreational device or vending machine.
ADMISSION - LIVE THEATRE, LIVE ENTERTAINMENT: Where admission fee
is charged, ten (10) percent of admission fee.
ANIMALS:
Exotic Animals - $250 per animal per year.
Recreational Use - $10 per animal per day.
BUILDING PERMITS & RELATED FEES
(Construction, Renovation, Additions):
Commercial, Triplex or Greater - $500 plus $0.25 per sq ft
One & Two Family Structures - $250 plus $0.15 per sq ft
Demolition Permit (entire structure) - $125 plus $0.10 per sq ft
Shed, Cabana, Playhouse, Etc. - $25 plus $0.15 per sq ft up to 99 sq ft
$50 plus $0.15 per sq ft up to 199 sq ft
Detached Private Garage
Or Shed Over 200 sq ft - $100 plus $0.15 per sq ft
Swimming Pools (Above Ground) - $50 plus $0.15 per sq ft
Swimming Pools (In Ground) - $100 plus $0.25 per sq ft
(Construction, Roofing, Siding, Renovations, Parking Lots, Driveways,
Window Replacement):
Commercial, Triplex or Greater -
$50 for first $1,000; $25 each additional $3,000 construction cost
(labor and materials)
One & Two Family Structures -
$50 for first $5,000; $25 each additional $5,000 construction cost
(labor and materials)
CLEANING: SELF SERVICE LAUNDRY (Coin Op) - $5 per machine per year
CURB & SIDEWALK PERMIT (Covers inspection cost): $25 up to 50 linear feet.
DEBRIS DEPOSITED IN PUBLIC STREET (leaves, snow, grass cuttings
or other material):
Ticket - $50 per violation plus clean up cost.
DUMPING & ABANDONMENT OF SHOPPING CARTS, TIRES, AUTO PARTS,
JUNK STORAGE:
Ticket - $25 per inspection (or cart found on public right of way)
plus $50 per day for storage.
DUMPSTERS & PODS : $75 per container for five days in the street with lit
barricades.
$75 per container for 30 days if on site.
FENCES: $50 for permit
FIRE PROTECTION FEES:
1. Fire Alarms
Installation in new and existing properties:
$100.00 for first 2,500 sq. ft.
$25.00 per 1,000 square ft. over 2,500 sq. ft.

5th Alarm & any Thereafter $300.00
2. Sprinkler Systems
Installation in new and existing properties:
$100.00 for first 2,500 sq. ft.
$10.00 per 1,000 sq. ft. over 2,500 sq. ft.
Plus cost of third party plan review
3. Extinguishing Systems for Commercial Kitchens: $125.00
4. Annual Fire & Life Safety Inspections:
Up to 999 sq. ft. $ 35.00

Door-to-Door/Street Sales - $10 per person per day
Fixed Locations (stands) - $100 per year
Transient Merchants - $100 per year
Weekly Seven-Day (door-to-door) Permits - $50
Day Permits (parades, etc.) - $10 per person per day
SEWER TAPPING FEES:
$2,508.00 per EDU of capacity required for connection.
SIGNS & BANNERS:
Erection/Altercation - $50 per sign or banner
Sidewalk Display Sign (Ticket) - $25 per violation per day
Banners (30 day limit) (Ticket for failure to remove) -
$75 per violation per day
STORAGE TANKS:
$100 each 1,000 gallon tank capacity (FM). All cleanup cost
from spills to be done by owner.
STREET EXCAVATION:
$100 per 100 foot parallel to curb. Emergency street excavation
(5 years from paving date) - $500 per opening of a 100 foot parallel to curb.
SUBDIVISION & LAND DEVELOPMENT:
Preliminary Plan Filing Fee - $150 plus $20 per unit (lot) for each
additional 1,000 square feet.
Engineering Services - at cost
Materials & Facilities Tests - at cost
Dedication Legal Fees - at cost
Overall Legal Fees - at cost
TEMPORARY NO PARKING SIGNS: $25 per sign (with $20 refundable upon
return of signs).
USE & OCCUPANCY (Upon sale, change of occupancy or business owner
or renovation):
Residential - $75 per dwelling with $50 each additional unit.
Non-Residential - $75 per first 2,500 sq ft with $50 each additional
1,000 sq ft (this includes one revisit. A third visit will be treated as a
new application).
YARD/GARAGE SALES:
$20 permit refunded if signs removed within 72 hours of event
ZONING (Upon sale, change of occupancy or business owner or renovation):
Residential - $75 per dwelling with $50 each additional unit.
Non-Residential - $75 per first 2,500 sq ft with $50 each additional 1,000 sq ft
(this includes one revisit. A third visit will be treated as a new application).
ZONING HEARING BOARD:
Hearing - Residential $500; Non-Residential $1,000.
Engineering, Legal, Technical Support Fees - at cost.
BOCA Hearing (various codes) - Residential $500; Non-Residential $1,000 plus costs
